Earlier this year we told you about 10 great iPhone apps for pet lovers, but of course, with so many apps available, and more being released every day, we barely scratched the surface. So today we have nine more recommendations for the best off-the-wall, silly and all-around fun apps that, while they may not change the world, will at least bring you and your furry friend a little bit closer.
Good Dog Training Clicker
Are you always forgetting to bring your training clicker to the dog park? We bet you never forget to bring your phone. That's why we love the Good Dog Training Clicker app. It's free and so simple: a training clicker on your iPhone. It also includes referenced information on dog training from basic training, to tricks, to reward/punishment and even harness and collar info.
Comic Touch
Comic Touch is an app that costs just $2.99 but goes a long way in creating laughs. Everyone has taken a photo that warrants a silly caption. WIth this app, you can add thought bubbles to any of your photos, turning them into comics. You can even distort images with funhouse-mirror effects. This app is loads of fun for your dog and human photos alike. Share your silly photos with friends and family on various social-networking sites. There is a free version of the app available, so you can try before you buy.

And apparently, according to Style.com, the "in" look this year is longhaired cats, whereas last year's calendar was focused on shorter haired cats.
You can pre-order this limited edition calendar now for $50. Calendars are scheduled to ship November 15.
StyleList also has the scoop on animal-lover Betty White's 2011 calendar.

After Stewie's owners, Robin Hendrickson and Erik Brandsness of Reno, Nev., heard amazement from numerous people about how long their cat was, they decided to try for the record. The previous longest cat record was held by a domestic cat measuring 48 inches.
It's no wonder that the new world's longest cat is a Maine coon. The breed is known for its size. Males can weigh between 13 and 18 pounds, and females between 9 and 12.

Dog Leash Review – 3 Problem-Solvers

We know there are people out there whose dogs walk right by their sides. These animals are perfectly trained and it's a relaxing joy to walk them around the neighborhood. We are not those people, despite the hours (not to mention hundreds of training treats) sacrificed to getting our dogs inline. So we've checked out a few products designed to tackle common dog walking challenges.1. Self-Adjustable - The Laughing Leash
What it does: When you have a dog that doesn't necessarily pull hard, but likes to sometimes be in front, sometimes behind, and sometimes right by your side, the Laughing Leash ($24.99) is the answer to your prayers. The leash extends from two to six feet without you having to do a thing. It's drag-free and tangle-free (as the dog comes closer, the coil inside the fabric automatically shortens), so it stays clean and your dog stays safe.
Best for: Moderate pullers and smaller dogs who like to dart up and back. For really strong dogs that do nothing but pull the leash to its full length, this product won't help. It's not a training tool, but does make walking with a light puller much more enjoyable.
Bonus: A portion of proceeds are donated to shelters and rescue organizations in the U.S.
Our experience: This works really well for leisurely walks through the neighborhood where there is plenty of room to move around. It allows dogs to prance around and sniff and explore. However, it's not as easy to keep the dog under control in a busy situation since the leash stretches out to six feet and there's no way to lock it in a shorter length.
